Based on our years of experience, we know that gluing upholstery components in furniture production is a complex and demanding process. It requires precise adhesive selection for various materials, such as metal, wood, polyurethane foams, finishing materials, and plastics. Additionally, single-sided or double-sided bonding of furniture parts often presents a challenge. Due to technological reasons or difficulties accessing glued surfaces, single-sided adhesive application is often the only feasible option.
In the case of two-component water-based adhesives, single-sided bonding is impossible. However, hot melt adhesives (HM) offer the possibility of effective single-sided and double-sided bonding, making them an excellent alternative to solvent-based and water-based adhesives.

A much greater challenge for hot melt adhesives is bonding upholstery components that are subject to high stress. This is especially true for components under significant material bending, as well as bonding PUR foams to wood, rigid cardboard, or metal.
